South Pennine Ring The South Pennine Ring (SPRING) was established on 1st April 2000. This newly formed waterway consists of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, the Rochdale Canal, the Ashton Canal and the Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal as well as the Northern Section of the Peak Forest Canal.
